• Resumen

  La historiografía religiosa en la Argentina ha considerado el problema del ejercicio del patronato bajo una óptica dual según la cual la Iglesia y el poder soberano aparecen enfrentados de manera irresoluble. No obstante, en las primeras décadas del siglo XIX, ni la Iglesia ni el poder soberano constituyen dos entidades claramente delimitadas y jerarquizadas, y en este contexto discutiremos el problema del patronato teniendo en cuenta la multiplicidad de jurisdicciones eclesiásticas y civiles propias del Antiguo Régimen. A fin de desarrollar este problema, hemos tomado como hilo conductor de nuestro trabajo la figura de Gregorio Funes, deán de Córdoba y autor en 1810 de un dictamen sobre el patronato que sirvió de base a la política eclesiástica de los primeros gobiernos patrios.

• Abstract

  Al Argentina, the religious historiography has frequently considerad thepatronato under a dual perspective in which we find the State confronts the Church in a sharp way. Bul we will shall see ihat al the beginning of the XIXlli century neither the Church or the State were two well defined entities; on the contrary, both contamed a multiplicity oí'jurisdictions and the patronato was trapped in them. In order to study this problem, we will analize the work of Gregorio Funes, Cordoba's deán and author at 1810 of a brief treaty about this subject that become the basis of the political decisions of the govemment since 1810.
